Short version: Comparer does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. There are no Comparer accounts and no Comparer analytics. The extension processes pages on your device and keeps saved comparisons in your browser only.

Who we are

Comparer is a browser extension and informational website that helps you compare product prices, domain renewals, and subscription plans on webpages you visit.

What we do not do

• We do not require sign-up, login, or payment to use Comparer.
• We do not run Comparer-owned servers that receive your browsing data.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or marketing cookies on this website.
• We do not send page content or scan results from the extension to Comparer.

Website (this site)

When you visit the Comparer website:

• We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment details on this site.
• We do not set tracking or advertising cookies. See our Cookies Policy for details.
• Fonts may load from Google Fonts (a third-party service). Google may process technical connection data under its own policies when fonts are requested.
• Your hosting provider (e.g. Hostinger) may keep standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) as part of normal hosting. Comparer does not access or use those logs.

Browser extension

When you use the Comparer extension:

• Page scanning reads visible text on the active tab in your browser to detect prices and plan-related phrases. Processing happens locally on your device.
• Saved comparisons are stored with your browser’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local / equivalent). They stay on your device until you clear them or uninstall the extension.
• Research alternatives opens a new tab to a public search engine (e.g. Google) with a search query you can review. That site has its own privacy policy.
• The extension requests permissions to read the active tab when you click scan, store data locally, and inject the scanner script when needed. It does not run hidden background uploads.

Children

Comparer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy if Comparer’s behavior changes (for example, if accounts or cloud sync are added in the future). We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
